Reading HRA Printouts

This training includes procedure and best practices tips on printout requests including: best practices on when and how to request a printout; how to read a printout; and how to use a printout in case planning. This training is ideal for those interested in assisting clients in Public Benefits matters or request printouts frequently for clients.

    Denise Acron (Speaker)

    Denise Acron (she, her) - Deputy Director, Manhattan Legal Services Denise Acron is the Deputy Director of Manhattan Legal Services. She was formerly Unit Director of the Government Benefits Unit at Manhattan Legal Services. In this role, she supervised a team that litigates on behalf of low-income clients in federal, state, and city courts concerning government benefits issues. Manhattan Legal Services, which is part of Legal Services NYC, the largest civil legal services provider in the country, fights poverty and seeks racial, social, and economic justice for low-income New Yorkers. Raised in San Diego, California, Denise graduated from Columbia University with honors and Wake Forest University School of Law.

    Nicole Reyes (Speaker)

    Nicole Reyes (she, her) - Senior Paralegal, Government Benefits Unit, Manhattan Legal Services Nicole Reyes is currently a Senior Paralegal in the Governments Benefits Unit at Manhattan Legal Services. She continues to assist clients with their public assistance cases, SNAP cases, representation at administrative fair hearings and provides advocacy on behalf of our clients with the agency. She has assisted clients in obtaining approvals for back rent grants and FHEPS applications to avoid being evicted from their homes. It has been an honor for Nicole to work at MLS and advocate for racial, social and economic justice for low-income New Yorkers to help clients obtain and or retain their much needed benefits. Nicole is a graduate of American Business Institute.

    Michelle Mendia-Yadaicela (Speaker)

    Michelle Mendia (she, her) - Senior Paralegal, Government Benefits Unit, Manhattan Legal Services Michelle Mendia is currently a Senior Paralegal in the Government Benefits Unit at Manhattan Legal Services. In this role, she assists clients who have current public benefits issues or need assistance with a public benefits application. She helps clients with cash assistance, SNAP, one shot deals, ERAP, CityFHEPS, FHEPS and more. She has represented various clients at administrative fair hearings. Michelle is honored to be working for an organization dedicated to combating poverty and advocating for economic, social and racial justice. Previously, she worked as a Tenant Rights Coalition (TRC) paralegal for Manhattan Legal Services. Prior to joining LSNYC, Michelle was employed as an immigration paralegal for a firm. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Skidmore College.
