    Andrea Madrid (Speaker)

    Andrea Madrid, Esq. is a Staff Attorney with the Immigration Advocacy Project at Queens Legal Services where she works with immigrants in removal proceedings and various other forms of immigration relief. She was previously at Catholic Charities Community Services (CCCS) working with detained and released children on immigration removal defense and at the New Americans Hotline answering immigration related questions and conducting telephonic orientations for potential sponsors for unaccompanied children. She received her J.D. with a certificate in International Law from Pace Law School and interned at various nonprofits assisting survivors of domestic violence and immigration enforcement. She also served as the Policy Initiative Director for the National Latino/a Law Student Association (NLLSA) in 2011 and helped to establish MetroLALSA, Inc.; a non-profit organization comprised and run by Latino/a law students from thirteen NY/NJ law schools. She grew up in Queens, NY and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading science fiction series, and practicing photography.
