Representing Clients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

This training will provide information regarding traumatic brain injury (TBI) and the intersection of veterans’ benefits and civil legal protections. Included will be an explanation of federal laws and regulations, New York laws and regulations, and programs and services applicable to individuals affected by brain injury. The program will cover useful evaluations to access these services. The program will also address applicable ethical concerns.

About the Faculty

    Christine Waters (Speaker)

    Christine Waters is a staff attorney at Disability Rights New York in the Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (PATBI) Program. Prior to DRNY, Christine came from Legal Services of Central New York. In 2010, Christine was designated the PATBI attorney for New York State. Christine is a graduate of the Syracuse University College of Law. She completed a Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University. In each capacity: Social Work and Lawyer, she has long been an advocate for individuals with disabilities.
